The Wenatchee City Council recently voted to add a residence at 922 Idaho Street to the Grandview Historic District and the Wenatchee Register of Historic Places.

The home was made a contributing member of the district after replacing a vinyl siding with a concrete material that looks much closer to the original sighting.

Mayor Frank Kuntz said members of the Grandview Historic District receive a small property tax break for reinvesting in their properties by maintaining their historic look.

"Do you want these properties to fall apart and become dilapidated? Or do you want people to take a conscientious effort to rebuild them and remodel them and put them in a way that benefits the community?" asked Kuntz, "After a tough start it's been a very good deal for the city and hopefully for those that live in Grandview. I think they're seeing the prices of their homes go up and people really want to live in that neighborhood."

The home is a combination of Tudor and Colonial Revival architectural styles.
