I-90 Collision Causes Temporary Eastbound Lane Closure

Washington State Patrol responded to a one car injury collision at 6:18 Monday morning that caused a several hour closure of the eastbound lane on I-90 near milepost 106, near west Ellensburg interchange area. According to Trooper John Bryant, a pick up truck had rolled over onto the roadway with four occupants inside with two of the occupants ejected out of the vehicle.

"Those two occupants were life flighted to Harbor View and the other two occupants went to the hospital here in Ellensburg," said Trooper Bryant.

Road conditions were considered icy at the time and Washington State Department of Transportation was in the midst of putting product down to alleviate the icy roadway.

"Because of the nature of the collision and the fact it was in the middle of the roadway, we shut down the roadway in the eastbound lanes," said Trooper Bryant.

The eastbound lanes were shut down at exit 101 near Thorp, but the roadway was fully open as of 10 a.m. The westbound lanes were initially closed, but also have reopened.
