Governor Jay Inslee is extending the extra security measures around the state capitol through at least January 20th, the inauguration for President-elect Joe Biden.

In a statement, Inslee said it is, "Due to evolving intelligence on security threats posed in all 50 state capitals following the violence in our nation’s capital."

WSP says they are working with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to investigate all threats and warnings.

Security implementations include road and trail closures, and barriers.

The right to peacefully protest will not be hindered.
