It's National Boating and Fishing week, a celebration of the recreation and the importance of those activities in our nation.

Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Public Affairs Officer Robin Demario says make sure you're properly prepared if going out.

"If you are planning to recreate on the water, please wear a life jacket, and know that rivers are running high and the water is very very cold."

According to the Boating and Fishing Foundation, if you participate, it could help you de-stress, re-connect with your family and also helps with conservation.
