A man's dead from a Wednesday afternoon crash on State Route 28 south of East Wenatchee.

Troopers say 34-year-old Sheldon Tubbs was driving a car that left the roadway to the right before overcorrecting and swerving across the centerline to hit the side of an oncoming pickup truck.

Tubbs died in the crash that left his car and the truck driven by 29-year-old Jose Rosasvaldovinos in a ditch.

Troopers say Tubbs caused the accident when his car crossed the centerline midway between East Wenatchee and Rock Island.

It's not known if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

Tubbs, of Rock Island, was traveling eastbound in a 1994 Ford Taurus at the time of the accident while Rosasvaldovinos, of Yakima, was moving westbound in a 2015 Toyota Tacoma.

Troopers say both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Tubbs was pronounced dead at the scene.
