A Moses Lake Police Department patrol SUV got high centered on a retaining wall during a pursuit Monday night.

Captain Dave Sands says officers were setting up at the Econo Lodge on South Pioneer Way to arrest a suspect on a felony warrant when he took off running before they were ready.

"As officers were chasing the suspect, the officer who had set up in back (of the Econo Lodge) thought he could get in front of them by heading over the grass area and park there that's behind the Econo Lodge." explained Sands, "Unfortunately, he soon discovered there was about a two foot retaining wall there that hung up his car."

Other officers were able to chase down and arrest the suspect a couple blocks away on Pioneer Way. It's unknown if the officer who high centered his vehicle will face any discipline.
