An SUV carrying a mother and her two young children crashed Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 pm east of Stevens Pass on US 2.

Trooper John Bryant said the 2016 Audi Q5 traveled off the road and into an embankment about ten feet off the roadway, rolling over onto its side and getting stuck in a snowbank.

"In the car was a mother and her two younger children, a three-year-old and a two-month-old." explained Bryant, "They had difficulty getting out of the vehicle. Probably the age of the children and the fact they were in car seats took her a while to get them out."

Aid responded to the scene and the family is thought to be uninjured. The cause is under investigation.
