The National Forest anticipates getting busier over the next few weeks as more campgrounds begin to open up.

Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Public Affairs Officer Robin Demario says be careful as there is still snow in some of the higher elevations.

"Snow is still hanging in at 2,000-3,000 feet elevation, especially on north facing slopes, and spring conditions still exist on many roads, meaning wet spots, snow in shaded corners, and trees across roads."

Campgrounds opening this week are Eightmile, Bridge Creek, Pine Flats and Nason Creek.

Opening May 6th will be Fox Creek and Lake Creek.

More info can be gathered from your local ranger station.
