Springtime snowmelt is likely to cause issues in the Stehekin area this week.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Miranda Cote said Tuesday that they have issued a flood warning for the Stehekin River beginning Wednesday.

"The River Forecast Center is projecting the river to rise above the flood stage of 24 feet by Wednesday morning." said Cote, "It will remain there until it starts to fall back down below flood stage Saturday afternoon."

The river has the potential to exceed its banks in spots and onto Stehekin Valley Road and Company Creek Road. McGregor's Meadow Road will also be mostly flooded, as will parts of the Harlequin Campground.
