NCW Libraries is encouraging teenagers, grades 8-12, in North Central Washington to apply for the new Teen Library Council. The council will assist in the development of programs and resources designed for teens.

"I'm looking for teens who really want a unique leadership experience. Who have a voice and want to be heard and make changes in their community," said Jessica Lynch, NCW Libraries’ Teen Services Manager.

The deadline to apply is February 28 with the requirement to meet once a month via Zoom throughout the school year.

"There's several benefits from getting to connect with other teens," said Lynch. "There's also just the job skills and leadership skills from being on a council like this. Getting to work as part of a team and seeing projects from start to finish."

Teens can add the council to job or college resumes as well as gain volunteer hours.
