Chelan County Sheriff's Deputies and the NCW Special Investigations Unit were asked to assist west side law enforcement apprehend a wanted felon out of Everett who drove to Leavenworth early Christmas morning.

SIU Captain Brian Chance says 27-year-old Edwin Vazquez Flores was located on Highway 2.

"One Deputy located a vehicle matching the description that they had been provided traveling over 100 MPH on Highway 2 towards Leavenworth. That Deputy was not able to catch up to the vehicle but other Deputies in the area were able to locate it as it came into the town of Leavenworth and initiated a pursuit."

Chance says there were reports that Flores had a knife.

Eventually, law enforcement was forced to use what is called a PIT maneuvever.

"A Pursuit Immobilization Technique which was successful and Deputies were able to get the suspect into custody following a short foot pursuit after the suspect's vehicle came to rest on Highway 2."

Flores was wanted on domestic violence felony warrants out of Snohomish County.

After being treated at Cascade Medical Center, he was driven back to the west side and booked in Snohomish County Jail.
