Newhouse Accepting Artwork for Annual Congressional Art Competition
Congressman Dan Newhouse is asking high school students in the 4th District to submit their artwork for the annual Central Washington Congressional Art Competition.
Newhouse said the winning entry will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol and this year's winner will receive two airline tickets to visit Washington D.C.
"I'm happy to do this." Newhouse said, "Since I got to Washington D.C. we have been a participant in this and have been able to showcase some really fantastic pieces of art from very talented young people in Central Washington."
The artwork must take the form of paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art and photography. Artwork must be submitted to one of Representative Newhouse's district offices by April 30th.
Artwork entered in the contest may be up to 26 inches by 26 inches, may be up to 4 inches in depth, and not weigh more than 15 pounds. If your artwork is selected as the winning piece, it must arrive framed and must still measure no larger than the above maximum dimensions.
