4th District Representative Dan Newhouse recently sent a letter to the National Archives Record Administration, or NARA, asking them to remove a 'harmful content' label from use on the archives' website.

Newhouse said NARA was acting outside of its scope and purpose when it issued a general "harmful or difficult to view" warning as a banner above every document on its website. He also called out the Biden Administration for pushing for the warning earlier this year.

"I think we need to preserve, but we can't qualify." Newhouse explained. "We've got to either uphold the sanctity of our governing documents, and take a strong stand, or not."

The National Archives include the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution.
