4th District Republican Representative Dan Newhouse spoke Thursday regarding the current state of the GOP after two recent, contentious votes involving Representatives Liz Cheney and Marjorie Taylor Greene this week.

Newhouse said one cannot deny there has been some recent difficulties, but Wednesday night's 4 1/2 hour private caucus meeting was very productive.

"We had truly a family discussion. I'm sure everyone has experienced those. Where you get things off your chest." explained Newhouse, "You express your frustrations, maybe anger. Or you talk about some of the positive things too. Just get out everything, lay it all out on the table, and talk about it."

By the end of the meeting Newhouse said he truly felt that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and other members came out of the gathering feeling much more unified.

Newhouse added that the Republican Party now needs to turn from paying attention to each other's differences to pushing back on the things they've been seeing from the Biden Administration.
