North Central Accountable Community Health (NCACH) is inviting youth (K-12) in Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan counties to participate in the COVID-EO Contest. The contest doubles as a project to bring awareness to children of both CDC and local public health guidelines implemented to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The contest will run from now until May 15.

"The idea is that it would be about two minutes and it would be filmed with a smartphone or tablet to show one or more ways to stop the spread of COVID," said Mariah Brown, practice facilitator.

Brown stated kids can get creative and can demonstrate social distancing, hand washing, disinfecting surfaces and other public health recommended habits during the pandemic. Students can upload the video to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or any social media that they chose and then share that link to the competition platform.

"There are prizes for the first, second and third place for each of the age groups," said Brown.

More than $3,500 in prizes will be awarded to winning entries. First, second and third-place winners will be selected from each county in four age groups.
