Omak Man Guilty of Embezzling Over $100,000 From Colville Tribes

An Omak man was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for illegally possessing firearms and embezzling more than $100,000 in Tribal funds.

Our news partner iFIBER One reportes 42-year-old Chad Jeremy Monaghan was working for Tribal Trails Omak when he embezzled the money from Colville Fuels, LLC over a three-month period. The Colville tribes operate Tribal Trails Omak, which is located on tribal land.

A warrant to search Monaghan's residence was obtained by the Colville Tribal Police Department, where they found $3,000 and four firearms.

Monaghan also must serve three years of court supervision and pay $107,980 in restitution.
