Oregon Man Takes Deputies on Chase Near Warden

A burglary in progress around 3:45 Wednesday morning in the Warden area turned into a chase for Grant County sheriff's deputies.

PIO Kyle Foreman said deputies were called to the 21900 block of Road 3 Southeast. The reporting party said there was a burglary in progress and some ATVs were possibly being stolen.

"When they arrived, one of the deputies was almost hit by a vehicle that was fleeing the scene." Foreman explained, "Deputies then chased that vehicle around the Warden area. The vehicle then crashed on the Lind-Warden Highway and the driver then bailed on foot."

20-year-old John Buehler of Huntington, Oregeon made it about 200 yards on foot before being caught by deputies.

Buehler was booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of eluding police officers, and additional charges are expected.

A string of similar crimes has been recently happening in the rural Warden area.
