The Grant County Sheriff's Office has closed Road W Northeast near Road 12 Northeast due to a fatality collision and poor visibility.

PIO Kyle Foreman said there are reports of no visibility north of Road 11 Northeast due to blowing dust.

"Road W is used as kind of a major north-south corridor from State Route 28 and then it connects with Road 3 about 10 to 12 miles east of Moses Lake." explained Foreman, "So it's a heavily traveled road, but right now it's closed so it is going to impact travel for people traveling in that area."

The sheriff's office is asking people to avoid travel if possible during this evening's windstorm. Residents are also reminded to watch for blowing dust countywide, as other areas of blowing dust will crop up as the storm moves through, especially near tilled fields.
