Quick-Moving, but Potent Storm to Hit Friday
The National Weather Service is monitoring what they are calling a quick-moving but potent storm that is expected to come through the Cascades and Central Washington Friday.
Meteorologist Greg Koch says, "We're still honing in on the track of this system. At this point, it looks like it may have made a shift to the north yielding less accumulation for Central Washington including the Wenatchee area."
There is a Winter Storm Watch for the east slopes of the Cascades and around the Okanogan Valley and the Waterville Plateau.
Koch says, "The north cascades will still a healthy dumping of early season snow. We may see up to 10 inches in some of the higher terrain around Wenatchee. For Wenatchee itself it looks like a couple of inches at best given the latest data that we have."
The long-term forecast does show some amount of warming into next week with the current high for Wednesday around 50 degrees.
