Grant County Sheriff's Department deputies apprehended an at-large assault suspect Thursday afternoon after turning to the community for help.

According to PIO Kyle Foreman, 32-year-old Evan Keith badly beat a 73-year-old male victim on the victim's property Wednesday afternoon about 4:30 pm, causing head trauma and several broken bones. Keith then stole the victim's car, money, and guns.

Deputies later discovered the vehicle abandoned. The Sheriff's Department then took to social media to ask for the public's help in locating Keith.

"The search for suspect Evan Keith ended this afternoon when he was taken into custody." said Foreman, "He's facing charges of assault, robbery, auto theft and several others. We appreciate the help that the public gave us in finding him. This took a very dangerous person off of the street."

Keith was booked in Grant County Jail.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for his injuries and his status is unknown. Law enforcement is unsure of the relationship between the two, but the victim identified Keith soon after deputies arrived to the incident.
