Sgt. Spencer Nulph of the Soap Lake Police Department was able to help a distressed man who may have been suicidal Monday morning.

Chief Ryan Cox observed the person running near the police station, screaming at the top of his lungs, before falling down in-between city hall and the station.

Cox called for backup and Nulph responded using crisis intervention training to convince the man to give up two knives and go to Samaritan Hospital for help.

Soap Lake Police strongly encourages anyone who is having difficulties in their life to seek help.
