A nap could end up being very costly for one Soap Lake suspect.

The Soap Lake Police Department says two of their officers were investigating an area known to be a destination for stolen vehicles Saturday morning when they spotted what they thought was a recently stolen Dodge Ram pickup from Grand Coulee.

After confirming it was the stolen vehicle, officers found two people inside the truck asleep. Both occupants were ordered out of the truck and were placed in handcuffs.

The driver, Raymond Atchison Jr, was arrested for theft and possession of a stolen vehicle and given a referral for possession of methamphetamines. A female passenger was released due to booking restrictions.

The truck was impounded and Atchison was booked into the Grant County Jail.
