Soap Lake Police arrested 62-year-old Gregory Ewing Friday after 9-minute pursuit in the Lakeview area just outside of the town.

Chief Ryan Cox says an officer ran the license plate on the truck Ewing was driving which came back expired.

"Initially the truck drove normal, just didn't stop or do anything. Then he started driving recklessly all over the road, into oncoming lanes, failing to stop at stop signs, no turn signals. Thankfully it was at 2:20 in the morning because nobody else was on the roadway."

Cox says Ewing then fled in the truck to his brother's home in the 20000 block of Road B.5 NE.

"He drove outback in the field where they have a bunch of motor homes and RVs set up and bailed out of the truck. The officer, knowing the residence, waited for other units to show up and they started to track with [GCSO] Deputy Overland and Chewy."

Ewing was found a short time later and did not resist arrest at that point.

This was the second time Ewing has been caught K9 Chewy.

He was booked into Grant County Jail on multiple charges.
