Tonasket Man Guilty of Murdering Wife, Burning Her Body

A Tonasket man is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of murdering his wife in 2019 and burning her body in the trunk of his car.

Our newspartner iFIBER ONE reports that an Okanogan County Superior Court jury found Lance Bowers guilty of Murder in the 1st degree - domestic violence, as well as two counts of Assault in the First Degree with Firearms Enhancements, Reckless Burning in the First Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the Fire Degree.

Bowers was outside of the Aeneas Valley Store June 3rd, 2019 when he set fire to his car. When deputies arrived he reportedly brandished a handgun and fired at them. Deputies returned fire and Bowers was struck and taken to Central Washington Hospital. He was eventually released into custody.

Human remains discovered inside the vehicle were burned beyond recognition and months later they were identified as Angela Bowers.

Lance Bowers was charged in November of 2019 and now awaits a sentencing date.
