Good weather is letting firefighters make progress in battling the Twenty-Five Mile fire at Lake Chelan.

Crews continue to focus on the southeast portion of the fire burning near the south shore of Lake Chelan after good weather provided a very productive day Monday.

PIO Katy O'Hara says firefighters will conduct some burnout operations if conditions align, which would build a buffer near the toughest portions of the blaze.

Crews are mopping up the northern part of the fire. The blaze has destroyed one primary structure and 10 outbuildings. It's now over 10-thousand acres and 8% contained.

More than 460 personnel are working on the Twenty Five Mile Fire.

Evacuation notices remain the same, although changes could come this week with progress made in fighting the fire:

Level 3 (Go Now) evacuations for all properties north of Cove Marina on South Lakeshore Road, the area of Granite Falls Road and First Creek Road west of Lakeshore. Lakeshore Road is closed from Cove Marina north past the Twentyfive Mile drainage.

Level 2 (Get Set) from South from Cove Marina to Morning Sun Drive.

Level 1 (Get Ready) Lakeshore Road south of Granite Falls area.

Also, a forest area closure has been issued in the Twentyfive Mile Creek area.
