Washingtonians can now use a digital record of their vaccinations to prove they’re in compliance with vaccine requirements.

WA Verify is the state’s new Digital COVID-19 Vaccine system, which draws information from the state's immunization records.

The system uses a person's name, birthdate and an email or phone number to find their state vaccination records and verify compliance.

WA verify offers an alternative to the current wide use of vaccination cards by people to confirm their vaccine status.

Vaccination is now required for people to attend large events, and in some counties to enter a restaurant or bar.

Washington also requires state employees as well as school and health care workers to be vaccinated as a condition of employment.

“More businesses, events, and employers are requiring people to be vaccinated. We ask that you respect the rules of the room and be prepared in advance to show the type of vaccination proof requested,” said Washington Secretary of Health Umair Shah.

WA verify also make use of IR codes to link to personal vaccination records.

The state Department of Health announced WA Verify a week ago, which currently supports more than 30 languages.
