Representative Dan Newhouse was among four Congressman who recently introduced a bipartisan resolution commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project.

The project has collected 16,000 hours of material related to the stories and accounts of those people who were actually engaged in activities during conflicts in our history. More than 110,000 firsthand stories have been recorded so far.

4th District Representative Dan Newhouse said he encourages all veterans to take advantage of the project.

"Obviously we cannot thank our service members enough for what they've done for us, for their service and their sacrifice." Newhouse explained, "But what we can do is make sure their stories are not forgotten."

Newhous added that if there are other vets that would like to participate, they are encouraged to contact his office at 509-713-7374 to arrange an interview.

Newhouse also recently hosted a conference call with many Central Washington vets and Dr. Phil Roe regarding the VA. Roe, from Tennessee, is the ranking member of the Veteran's Affairs Committee and served as an Army doctor in Vietnam.
