Aspiring directors may want to take note of a fairly lucrative video contest.

The Corps Foundation is holding a video contest in an effort to convince more adult Americans to strap on a life vest when recreating in and around our nations lakes and rivers.

According to Special Programs Director Rachel Garren, the contest is part of the foundation's Life Jackets Worn...Nobody Mourns campaign, which is supported by a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund. The Coast Guard manages the trust fund.

Videos are asked to be either 25 seconds or 55 seconds long. The best 55 second video will win $5,500, while the 25 second winner will take home a proportional $2,500.

The contest runs until September 1st. Go to lifejacketvideocontest.com for more information.

The Corps foundation supports the efforts of the US Army Corps of Engineers and is a nonprofit dedicated to exclusively to supporting our nation's lakes and rivers
