The Washington State Patrol will be hiring in the new year.

The Patrol is bringing on 60 new Trooper Cadets and 24 Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers in the next sixth months.

Communications Director Chris Loftis said there are excellent benefits to the job, including the opportunity for public service.

"We know that 2020 has been rough for everybody. A lot of people have lost their jobs, a lot of have been laid off, and there's a lot of economic uncertainty." explained Loftis, "We just wanted to put out the word that the jobs for the State Patrol are solid, they're stable, they're high-paying and we need good quality folks."

The next Trooper Academy class starts July 12th.
