Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is looking for public input for proposed recommendations in the 2020-2021 hunting seasons. The written public comments (accessible via WDFW website) will be taken into consideration as WDFW works to finalize hunting rules and regulations for the upcoming year.

"It's really important for the public to comment because that's how we set those seasons so we really need your input in order to have very productive and good prospects for the hunting season," said Sam Montgomery, public affairs officer.

The proposals include minor tweaks in special permit levels as well as hunting area descriptions. Some more weighty proposals include options related to cougar season setting are under consideration for the process as well.

The window of time to weigh in opens February 6 and closes February 26. The commission responsible for setting WDFW policy will also accept public comment for the proposed recommendations at the March 13-14 meeting in Kennewick with final action taken April 10th and 11th in Olympia.
