The Wenatchee City Council voted four to two Thursday Night to extend the hours of operation of retail marijuana businesses.

City Code has always stated marijuana hours be 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily. Thanks to the new ordinance, hours of operation will extend to 8:00 am to midnight.

Mayor Frank Kuntz listed jurisdictions like East Wenatchee, Chelan County, Douglas County, Ellensburg, and Moses Lake as locations where marijuana could be sold four hours later than Wenatchee.

Kuntz added that the city code will shift to the new hours 30 days after the ordinance is posted, which will happen by Monday at the latest.

Wenatchee Police Chief Steve Crown stated back in October that he didn't see any issues that the police department would raise in opposition of the code change.
