The Washington State Apple Blossom Festival Board of Directors announced Tuesday that the festival will be postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Festival Administrator Darci Christoferson said the 101st Washington State Apple Blossom Festival will not be held on the original dates of April 23rd to May 3rd, 2020. The board and staff will continue to monitor the situation and are hoping to have the festival in some form by June at the earliest.

Officials have prepared four different scenarios for a festival, although a new set of dates are totally dependent on the coronavirus situation's timeline. The goal is to have an 11-day festival, but Apple Blossom could end up as short as four days.

Christoferson added that she has been on the phone coordinating with other postponed festivals in our region with the hope that any conflicts can be resolved. Staff have also been in contact with food vendors and arts and craft vendors to explore and confirm their availability in the coming months.

Organizers will be rescheduling as many of the Apple Blossom Royalty's appearances as they can.
