Apple Blossom Royal Court Reflects on Being Crowned

The 2022 Washington State Apple Blossom Royal Court is still reeling from being crowned at Saturday's pageant. Along with being named the 2022 Queen, Rianne Salcido took home the Community Involvement Award and the Congeniality Award.

"I feel like the Congeniality Award meant so much to me in a whole different way, because the girls vote for that," said Salcido. "It's somebody they look to, somebody that was there for them through it all. That meant so much to me in a completely different way than the crown ever could've."

Princess Ainsley Shearer expressed gratitude for the opportunity to stand among nine amazing girls and Princess Presley Nelson noted it was a bittersweet moment when her name was called.

"I just got my name called, I'm so happy, but then I have to release Ava's (Top 10 candidate) hand and let go of all of those other girls who deserve it as well," said Nelson.

Queen Rianne, Princess Presley and Princess Ainsley will be making appearances at community events this spring and summer.
