Attorney for Fired WSU Football Coach Rolovich Vows Legal Action Will be Taken

The attorney for recently fired Washington State Coach Nick Rolovich says legal action will be taken against the school and all parties responsible for Rolovich’s termination.

Attorney Brian Fahling called the firing unjust and illegal, but did not indicate what action would be taken in a statement.

Fahling said Athletic Director Pat Chun directed campus police to escort Rolovich directly to his car after the firing without letting him speak to the team or go to his office.

He also said Chun’s hostility toward Rolovich’s religious beliefs and dishonesty at the expense of the coach in the last year is damning, and would be detailed in litigation.

The statement from Fahling claimed Chun’s discriminatory and vindictive behavior has caused Rolovich and his family immeasurable harm.

It said the University was deceitful about being unable to accommodate Coach Rolovich even if his exemption had been granted.

The statement referenced a secret donor trip during the height of the pandemic, claiming Chun and all other attendees contracted the disease, while Rolovich did not.

Fahling concluded his statement by claiming Rolovich has been derided, demonized and ultimately fired simply for devout in his Catholic faith.
