Chelan County Jail Moves Into Medical Provider Agreement, Including Psychiatric Assistance
The Chelan County Regional Justice Center has moved into a medical service agreement with Catholic Charities and an medical provider that serves Grant County as well. According to Commissioner Kevin Overbay, Catholic Charities will provide psychiatric assistance at the jail.
"We saw a need to improve those services," said Commissioner Overbay. "That (the psychiatrics assistance) will be through either telemedicine or an in person element."
The jail currently has two employees on site to provide mental health treatment and Catholic Charities will complement that service.
