Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett Responds to Stay Home Order, Dispels Myths

Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett responded to the Governor's orders noting that the Department's primary role is education.

They are not being asked to detain, arrest, ticket or establish any sort of checkpoints.

He called rumors of "martial true" untrue. He also says individuals or businesses needing a pass or special license to conduct essential services is not true.

Sheriff Burnett says the Sheriff's Department will focus on keeping our community safe, particularly our vulnerable population.

If you are approached by a law enforcement agent, they will remind you about the order and ask that you comply where appropriate.
