Chelan Hospital Celebrates New 3D Mammography Machine

Lake Chelan Community Hospital and Clinics is celebrating the addition of the hospital's new Genius™ 3D mammography machine with a ribbon cutting ceremony this Tuesday, October 22, at 3:30 in the hospital board room. The innovative breast cancer screening equipment is being installed this week and the ribbon cutting ceremony is an opportunity for the community to get the first look at the upgraded technology.

"We're excited to bring this service to the community," said Celeste Hankins, director of public relations. "It means fewer unnecessary call backs, greater accuracy and better earlier detection for our patients."

The ribbon cutting will be prefaced with information about the technology. LCCHC is also offering the community a chance to win a gift basket at the ribbon cutting ceremony with a 'Think Pink' Challenge. Throw on a favorite pink shirt, take a selfie and post the photo on one of the hospital's Facebook mammogram posts before noon on Tuesday to be entered into the raffle.

"We're doing this in partnership with the Lake Chelan Health and Wellness Foundation and we want to thank them for their support. Without them, we wouldn't be able to have this 3D mammography service for our patients," said Hankins.
