The National Weather Service says the Cascades are experiencing a drier than normal winter season and that a couple of snow storms are needed to push the snowpack to near-normal levels.

According to our news partner iFIBER ONE, the Natural Resource Conservation Service said snowpack levels in the lower Columbia Basin are only 46% of normal.

Officials believe that normal snowpack levels will not be reached by April.

Farmers in Chelan and Douglas counties will be most affected by a shortfall in snowpack in the lower Columbia.
