The 16th annual Cruizin’ Chelan Car Show happens Friday and Saturday in downtown Chelan.

The event is put on by the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce and is considered the kickoff to the tourist destination’s summer season.

The chamber’s Sales & Events Coordinator Jill Babcock says attendees can expect to see a wide variety of rides on two or more wheels.

“We have classic cars, newer cars, sedans, coupes, Corvettes, (and) trucks,” detailed Babcock. And we expect to have almost 200 cars this weekend, which is really exciting.”

The show will include 15 award categories for participants with voting done via a new QR code-based system.

In addition to the many hot rods, mods and street rods, Babcock says the show will also include a lot more for attendees to enjoy.

“We’re also going to be doing a poker walk, a beer garden, live music with Liberty Linklater – she’s a local girl out of Omak – and it’s going to be a fun weekend!”

The cars will line all of Woodin Avenue, along with Emerson Street.

Rides can still be registered for the event. Those interested can go to www.lakechelan.com for details.
