With the recent extreme heat, many jurisdictions are declaring emergency fireworks bans or reinforcing existing bans.

East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford knows there are a lot in the community that are concerned about personal fireworks, which during this time of year are allowed to be sold and used within the city limits.

Crawford said, "I have conferred with the Douglas County Fire Marshal. I talked with him about those concerns and risks and based off of the guidance that he has from the state, the city will not be doing an emergency ban of fireworks this year."

Crawford added that for fireworks guidance and safety tips, visit the city's website.
