East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford says normally the start of school means reduced speeds around the buildings when kids are arriving or leaving.

With things being online to start the year, obviously it's a bit different now, but that doesn't mean there will not be reduced speeds around schools.

"Students are going to school to receive meals, so you'll see the school lights flashing around those times. Please be mindful of those school zones, slow your speed down as students are in that area at that time."

Four schools in the district are open for meal pickup around lunch time, while Easmont Junior High is open in late afternoon for food delivery as well.
