Ephrata Man Cited With DUI For Sunday Rollover Collision

Washington State Patrol responded to a one car rollover wreck that resulted in a 19 year old Ephrata man to be ejected Sunday evening on westbound state route 28, between Soap Lake and Ephrata. The driver, Cole Mack, was driving a 2005 Honda Accord.

According to Trooper John Bryant, troopers were notified of the wreck at 5:40 p.m.

"When troopers and aid arrived on scene, there was a vehicle rolled over quite aways off the roadway," said Trooper Bryant. "The driver was ejected."

Mack was transported to Columbia Basin Hospital, however later ended up at Central Washington Hospital. According to Trooper Bryant, the rolled over vehicle matched the description of an erratically driven vehicle that was called in to police earlier that evening.

"The driver was under the influence and going to be charged with DUI, because of his injuries instead of doing a breath test like we usually do, we did a blood warrant and took blood from the individual there," said Trooper Bryant.

The blood sample was sent to the state crime lab for analysis and Mack has been cited for DUI and driving with a suspended license.
