Ephrata Woman Hospitalized After Collision With Semi-Truck

A pregnant Ephrata woman was hospitalized after a collision with a semi-truck Wednesday morning. Our news partner, iFiberone, reports that the collision was on state Route 17, just south of Ephrata near Neppel Road Northeast. Araceli Valverde Valentin, 21, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt and reportedly caused the vehicle to spin into the oncoming lane after losing control. Valentin's vehicle was struck by an oncoming Freightliner semi-truck that was hauling produce. The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt and Valentin was taken to Samaritan Hospital for minor injuries. State troopers say Valentin was cited for allegedly causing the collision.
