After finally getting COVID-related clearance to hold in-person festivities at the Wenatchee Valley 4th of July Celebration this Sunday, it was announced Tuesday that Walla Walla Point Park will be closed to the public due to the ongoing heatwave.

According to a press release all activities other than the fireworks display, which includes entertainment, food vendors and the beer garden, have been canceled. Walla Walla Point Park will be closed to the public beginning at 8:00 pm July 4th, one hour after the Excessive Heat Warning that has been in effect since last week is set to expire.

The Wenatchee Big Band's performance to the fireworks display will be broadcast on KOHO Radio 101.1 FM, and the display will be broadcast live on NCW Life around 10:00 pm.
