Grant County Fairgrounds Upgrades Underway

The Grant County Fairgrounds will be modernized with improvements made to its campground soon, thanks to the Campground Master Plan. The project will be supported by funds from the 2019 Real Estate Excise tax and start with the east portion of the campgrounds.

"The problem is the campground camp spots were designed when RVs were 20 feet long and no slide outs," said Jim McKiernan, fairgrounds director. "Today's RVs are up to 40 feet long and have three or four slide outs, so our sites weren't able to handle those."

The renovations also include adding full hook ups for sewer at all the sites. The project's multi-phase funding plan and start of construction is dependent on county commissioners' approval.
