Grant County Health District Requests Slight Funding Increase from Municipalities

Grant County Health District is requesting municipalities within the county to increase the contribution to the district from $2 to $3 per resident in 2022. The health district is facing an increased demand for services, including services not related to COVID-19.

"With the pandemic we still need to do our other things that are originally here for," said Misty Aguilar, public information officer. "With the pandemic, it's taxing."

Public health services include school based health presentations, the handling of West Nile and rabies cases, solid waste consultations and grant writing assistance among other public health work.
