Grant County Solid Waste to Hold Free Tire Collection Event

Grant County residents are invited to bring unwanted tires to the free Tire Clean Up event at the Port of Moses Lake on September 18 and 19. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.

"Tire disposal is kind of expensive and people have a tendency to let those pile up instead of properly disposing of them," said Joan Sieverkropp, Grant County Solid Waste program coordinator. "Cleaning these tires up helps prevent mosquitos from breeding and rats."

Folks can bring only household passenger or light truck tires with or without rims, no commercial type, and tires need to be 30 inches or less.
