Grant PUD Receives Nearly $430,000 for Ephrata Headquarters Updates
Grant PUD was awarded $429,769 from the state Department of Commerce to improve energy efficiency and climate control at the Ephrata headquarters. The improvements are necessary to meet the state's energy efficiency standards for buildings.
"The main projects we're going to do is update the HVAC, we're going to install more energy efficient lighting and upgrade the fire suppression system," said Christine Pratt, public affairs officer. "The building dates to the 50s or 60s and it definitely looks its age. These are very welcome improvements."
The state funding will cover a portion of the $1.7 million project to meet the new state's Clean Buildings Standard. Work is set to begin in October.
The state Department of Commerce awarded nearly $4 million for state and local government agencies' energy efficiency projects, including the PUD.
