This Free App Filters Out Full Campgrounds Before You Even Search
I'm not much of a camping person, but my daughter is. She loves to go camping and when she plans a camping trip, she tries to nail down her campsite months in advance. She's not the only person that does this.
Most campers find it very difficult to find campsites at the last minute. Now someone is stepping up to try to make it a little bit easier to find that last minute camping space.
now there is a solution.
According to axios.com,
‘Now, there's an app to make last-minute camping feel possible again.
West Coast software engineer Daniel Maynard built Camp Sage — a free campsite finder — that skips the booked sites and shows only campgrounds with reservations actually available.
A quick search Wednesday morning found dozens of bookable campsites across Western Washington in August, many within two hours of Seattle.

The idea came to Daniel Maynard (a software engineer) after he and his wife tried to find a campsite for a trip to Big Sur and then he realized that campsites open up all the time when people cancel their trips. It becomes very difficult to search for canceled camp sites because you have to do a search based on campground and date.

If you're using the Camp Sage app and you have a free weekend. You can just go on their app, look at a map, and find open campsites.
It works this way.
Basically, it's a web-based tool that looks at public reservation data from Reservations Gov, parks, and other public campground systems. Then it gives you an interactive map that shows all the availability.

This looks like an amazing app. I'm going to be texting my daughter right now to tell her where to find it.
