The city of Leavenworth is holding a virtual forum to allow the community a chance to weigh in on the future of the Osborn property.

The Osborn property is a vacated elementary school purchased by the city from the Cascade School District.

"The mayor and city council are embracing the concept that nothing can be built without the community at the table," said Ana Cortez, city administrator.

The city hasn't defined 'community' this early in the process, whether that means residents within city limits or residents within the school district. The general public is encouraged to provide input for the property.

"What would be a good use of that property?" said Cortez. "So it's the building, the playground and the green area. All of that. What would make sense of the city to build in that space?"

The forum will be conducted via Zoom on February 13 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
